In recent years, Maccabi, the popular Israeli beer, has been working to bring together the art and culture world with the nightlife world, and reach a wide and diverse audience across Israel.
In October 2015, Maccabi issued a call for entries from artists and illustrators. Selected art and illustrations were then printed on Maccabee coasters delivered to bars and restaurants across the country. More than 500 works were submitted, 50 of which were selected and displayed at the Maccabee ART exhibition. The 15 best submissions were printed on 30,000 beer coasters.
