Lionello Stock, an Italian Jew, founded the first distillery in Trieste, Italy in 1884, with the purpose of distilling local Italian wines into fine brandy. The distillery added to its repertoire a variety of spirits, fine liqueurs, Italian vermouth and other alcoholic beverages.   Read more..
