At a party, at a cocktail bar, or alone, in a moment of creative inspiration. No pretension – just the familiar, clean and preferred flavor. Because if we’re honest, when we get a taste for high-quality vodka, is there a more natural choice than Absolut? Absolut was first formulated in 1879, and today is still the most popular premium vodka in the world. But the story of Absolut could not be reduced to titles and accomplishments. Absolut has been, for years, a symbol of creativity and originality, authenticity, and light-hearted enjoyment. As a brand, it inspires us all to live each moment to the fullest, whether we are at a party, a cultural event, spending time with friends, or any other moment where fun is to be had. Absolute Vodka was first produced by Lars Olsson Smith, a young entrepreneur who has worked for years to develop an advanced distillation method. He invented continuous distillation, a cleaner, higher-quality alternative to the then-customary coal distillation. Smith called the spirit he distilled “Absolut Rent Brännvin” which means “absolutely pure vodka” in Swedish. Today, Absolut is sold in more than 120 countries and is one of the most well-known brands in the world. Over the years, dozens of flavors have been added to this classic spirit family, among them Absolut Pepper, Citron and Mandarin. Every single pour of Absolut enjoyed anywhere in the world comes from the same place: the Absolut distillery, located in Åhus, southern Sweden. In its first 100 years, Absolut was only available in Sweden. In 1979, the brand launched in New York, quickly becoming an international success. Absolut is made without added sugar, and from natural ingredients only, the two main components being water and winter wheat. The water used to distill Absolut are sourced from a deep well located near the distillery in Åhus, and the wheat also grows locally, under a blanket of snow, and is completely free of pesticides. Absolut is as pure a vodka as could be produced, with a rich flavor, a full and complex body, and smooth and delicate feel. Thanks to its purity, it also blends well with wonderful flavors, bringing out the best in them. Over the years, Absolut vodka has become a cultural icon, and its notable ad campaign became sought-after artifacts. The Absolut cultural revolution launched in 1985 with the now mythical campaign ad in which artist Andy Warhol painted Absolut’s iconic vodka bottle. Absolut continued to put forth daring artistic collaborations with leading artists, including Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and filmmakers, like Spike Lee and Spike Jonze.
