Nesher Malt

Nesher Malt is a root beer, a non-alcoholic beverage made in a process similar to beer with dark-roasted barley malt, which gives this beverage its lovely dark hue. Unlike beer, this malt beverage is fermented for a short time only. Nesher Malt is a beloved local product with a unique taste and long history.

The story of Nesher Malt began in 1935. Drink alcoholic beverages was not customary at that time, and so “Palestine Brewery Ltd” as it was then called, decided to develop a non-alcoholic drink.

The recipe was created by a Czech beer expert. Thanks to its sweet taste, the drink soon became a favorite amongst entire families and was even enjoyed by children and pregnant women. Today, Nesher Malt is a nostalgic and much loved Israeli brand, its unique taste an inseparable part of many Israeli childhoods.

What makes Nesher Malt a favorite among children?

The well-known and well-liked recipe, which contains only five ingredients, has not changed since 1935. The main ingredient is, of course, barley malt, which contains natural antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that promote a good immune system.

Nesher Malt is made entirely without preservatives and food coloring, and with only 34 calories per 100 ml it is a lighter choice than many other soft drinks. There is also a Diet Nesher Malt that lighter, refreshing, delicious, and very popular.

Aside from being a light and refreshing beverage, a Nesher Malt is often used to enrich stews and baked-goods.
